The 10 Best Window Alarms
This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in March of 2017. Your windows are the openings in your home most vulnerable to break-ins by burglars. But you can easily add some security and peace of mind by outfitting your house with any of these alarms, which will tell you when a thief is attempting to gain access and alert you to the danger. Some are even helpful with childproofing, because they let you know when little ones are accessing unsafe areas. Editor's Notes
March 11, 2019:
Window alarms come in a variety of styles, but we've here selected those that can work as standalone units, with the exception of the Aleph DC-1561, a good choice for adding to an existing system. We kept the Doberman Security Ultra-Slim, an ever-popular choice, and added the Eva Logik 4 Pack, which has similar units but, as each is bright white, just isn't as sleek-looking as the former. We also added the Wsdcam Wireless. It has a nifty remote that can control up to 50 alarms and each alarm can pair with eight remotes, making it a fine option for large homes with many occupants. Finally, we decided to add the Lewis N Clark Portable, after some consideration. Although it's made for travel and is easy to use, it seems to be made more for doors than windows; nevertheless, anyone who lands in a motel with sketchy windows might be glad to have it around.
