The 10 Best Waterproof Tablet Cases
This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in February of 2017. Accidentally sending your tablet tumbling into water is the worst feeling in the world, whether it's new or old, expensive or a budget model. While you could pop it into some rice and hope for the best, a better plan is to protect your device beforehand with a waterproof case. We've included plenty of options for various models that'll keep your tech safe, no matter how clumsy you may be. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

December 22, 2020:
When updating this ranking we tried to keep it versatile by selecting cases that are not specific to a certain tablet model. The level of protection versus the usability of the device are important factors to consider.
If you are looking to take your device underwater to use it for photography, the Aquapac 670 is designed for tablets up to 13-inches and the Aquapac 658B for up to 8-inches. Both of these are soft cases that protect against continuous immersion to a depth of 10-meters and allow full use of the touchscreen.
On the other hand, for more durable protection the Outdoor Products Watertight is made from shatterproof polycarbonate. Its transparent materials allow the screen to be viewed, however, it is too thick to operate the touchscreen. The Nanuk 910 has a solid resin shell and foam inserts that offer unparalleled protection, but don't allow the device to be used while it's inside.

After investigating a huge range of options, we decided to include both those waterproof cases that let you use your tablet and those that are more for storage. As to the former category, we removed the Aceguarder and XYG models due to some durability problems and, unfortunately, the PCT Brands option because of availability issues. We still think the LifeProof Nuud and OverBoard Black are fine selections, though, especially since they aren't overly complicated and are handy in a wide range of situations. Note that the OverBoard model will fit a wider range of models. We also added the MoKo Dry Bag; you can fully submerge it, but it does tend to become worn over time, so be sure to inspect it occasionally. For an option in the latter category, we added the Elephant Cases Elite. The Elite is exceptionally rugged and is best for those who travel in extreme conditions. You can also throw other things in it, like a slim netbook. Finally, after some consideration, we decided to remove the Incipio Atlas. It's far from perfect and is only compatible with a limited number of Kindle Fire models; a dry bag model, including the aforementioned MoKo or the Extreme World PVC, might be the better option.
