The 8 Best Pilot Kneeboards

This wiki has been updated 24 times since it was first published in October of 2018. Anyone who has ever seen the inside of an airplane cockpit knows that pilots need a distraction-free environment in order to transport themselves and their precious cargo to their destination safely. Kneeboards that accommodate an iPad or other tablets are a pilot's secret weapon for keeping important notes close at hand without getting in the way of controls or falling to the floor. Editor's Notes

January 18, 2021:

During this update, we were dismayed to find the one of our top recommendations was, unfortunately, discontinued by Flight Outfitters. While they do still offer a couple of models, none were worthy of inclusion for various reasons. Claiming the newly vacated spot is the Forceprotector Gear 102COY, which not only has a rugged construction and style, but offers space for a phone and grommets to clip in a binder. The Crystal Pilot Flight Pad also features binder rings, which can be detached if you choose not to use them. We like the ASA Rotating, which is another new addition, because it allows you to quickly switch your device between landscape and portrait viewing, as does the My Go Flight Folio. This latter model also features a removable metal clipboard and is crafted from genuine leather.

November 13, 2018:

While there isn't a lot of variety in this very specialized category, we were still able to provide several style options. Investigated user claims that the Flight Outfitters' plastic clips broke easily, but found the product has been updated with more flexible loops to help prevent breakage.
