For a table that brings a lot of bang for your buck, look to the newly added Play Platoon 5 in 1, which comes with 130 blocks that include figures such as people, a dog, a rabbit, and a car. When the building fun is done, it can easily be converted to an arts and crafts table or one that can be filled with water for more play. The built-in compartments are convenient for storing all of the bricks, and the matching chair provides a comfortable place to sit as your child builds and works. The building base is compatible with all major jumbo block sets. It’s good for tots aged 18 months and up and features bright primary colors. We also added in the KidKraft Play N Store, a thoughtfully designed model that opens out to reveal a deep storage bin, and two additional ones can slide out from the bottom, providing plenty of space to store Legos or other toys. The pinch-free design helps keeps little fingers safe during opening and closing. This new addition joins the KidKraft Activity, from the same manufacturer, which features a reversible tabletop. One side is Lego compatible, while the other side is smooth and suitable for drawing, coloring, Play Doh, or other activities.
The tried-and-true Constructive Playthings Activity is from a well-known name in children’s toys, and it gives kids a place to build with bricks as well as draw, paint, and more. It’s got a roomy pull-out bin underneath, and the wheels make it easy to move from room to room, as needed. The Utex 2-in-1 is an attractive piece of furniture that will make a nice addition to any playroom. It’s available in your choice of white or espresso, and you can choose drawers in either gray or red. Tiny tots are sure to appreciate the colorful Mega Bloks Build ‘n Learn, and they can form a town out of the 20 included pieces. It sits on stable legs that lock firmly in place, and the whole thing is easy to take apart for flat storage under a bed or taking to a playdate. As mentioned in our last update, be sure to supervise young children at all times during play, and also follow manufacturers’ age guidelines when giving bricks or other small toys to kids.

If you’ve got little Lego fanatics in your house and are tired of painfully stepping on stray bricks, why not contain all of those pieces in a table that provides storage? These useful pieces of pint-sized furniture also serve as a dedicated spot for your little ones to build their masterpieces. You’ll have your coffee table back again and they’ll enjoy having a special spot of their own. Our selection features some models that are compatible with standard Lego sets, some that accommodate the larger Duplo bricks or Mega Bloks, and some that will work with more than one of these options.
The Nilo 2-sided joins our selection as an American-made choice that comes with a two-sided board that can accommodate both Legos and Duplos. The base and legs are constructed from thick, solid hardwood, so it should last through the Lego phases of many a young child. When the building fun is done, just revert to the smooth, white melamine top for puzzles, Play-Doh, arts and crafts, or homework. Its surface is simple to wipe clean. This table is available in a model with holes around the perimeter that can be used for play with the manufacturer’s hammer and nails and its train set, as well as toys like Fiddlestix and Rokenbok. Alternately, a model is available without the holes.
For a sturdy and well-made option designed for tots ages 1 through 5, look to the Mega Bloks Build ‘n Learn, a highly portable table with legs that lock during use, but which are easy to fold under when it’s time to pack it up for a play date or a trip to Grandma’s. It’s slim design when folded makes it easy to slide under a bed or onto a shelf for storage.
The Yenny Shop Traveler makes its departure today, as it’s no longer available. For safety’s sake, always keep a close eye on your kids during play, and be sure to follow a manufacturer’s age guidelines.
