The 10 Best Wideband Gauges
This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in November of 2018. If you're driving a high-performance vehicle, you need to keep an eye on your fuel to air ratio in a wider range and with more accuracy than most factory-provided, narrow band systems can offer. That's where a good wideband gauge comes in. Many of the options on our list come complete with sensors and installation kits, and we've ranked them here by their speed, precision, ease of use, and style. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
November 22, 2020:
We rounded out our list this time around with something a little different than what's usually on offer for the category with the Innovate Motorsports LM-2. It's something that can offer a greater degree of usefulness than the typical wideband, thanks in large part to comprehensive data logging and PC software, making it ideal for people who use things like OBD2 scanners to get into the nitty gritty of their vehicle's capabilities. The only things holding it back from a much higher spot on the list are its awkward shape for installation and its occasional tendency to freeze.
Something in the aesthetic realm that drivers should also be conscious of is the ability to swap out certain components like faceplates or bezels. This is a feature you'll see on models like the AEM 30-4110 UEGO and the Innovate Motorsports 3918 MTX. For even greater customization options, though, we added a model to our special honors section whose website allows you to customize things like meter increments and layout, font, and faceplate color. The downside is that it's an exclusively analog display, however, so it's hard to tune within tenths of a reading.
December 11, 2018:
A readout that's easy to see and data that's readily collectible seem to be the most important features in the category, with AEM, Auto Meter, and Innovative Motorsports offering superb selections with regard to either. There are some less expensive possibilities on the market, but the quality difference seems too high, making any potential budget options insufficient.
