The 10 Best SUP Deck Bags

This wiki has been updated 16 times since it was first published in March of 2019. Stand-up paddleboarding is fun, relaxing, and a great way to get some exercise, but it's not a sport that encourages taking a lot of stuff with you. If you have gear you can't leave on the shore -- like your keys, wallet, or phone -- or wish to carry some drinks and snacks, these SUP deck bags can help. They attach directly to the board using various methods, with some being fully waterproof. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

April 08, 2019:

Finding a good bag is a battle between buying one with enough storage space or one that has a low-enough profile that it won't interfere with your ride. That's largely a personal decision; we put the SUP-Now Deluxe at #1 because it has a very small footprint as long as it isn't stuffed to the gills. However, the Red Original slots in right behind it, and it's massive enough to hold just about anything you could reasonably want to take with you. So, consider your preference, and feel free to swap the top two places if necessary.

Be sure to check if the model you're eyeing is waterproof before purchasing, as that can be a very costly mistake indeed. The Seattle Sports option listed here isn't, so you'll need to provide your own dry bags to keep inside. We felt it still merited inclusion due to its ability to handle more extreme usage.

Method of attachment is another important consideration. There aren't really any wrong answers here, as long as you can secure the bag sufficiently. It's more a question of whether you feel most comfortable with bungee cord, Velcro, suction cups, or something else entirely.
