This wiki has been updated 20 times since it was first published in March of 2018. Strawberry Shortcake represents more than just one of the cutest and most popular toy franchises from the 1980s. She’s also the embodiment of friendship, always ready to share a kind word or lend a helping hand. You can capture the magic with something from our selection of dolls, many of which feature the same sweetly smelling scents that can take parents back to their childhoods. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

May 18, 2020:

Anyone who played with Strawberry Shortcake dolls in the 1980s likely remembers these toys' pretty clothes, colorful features, and signature sweet scent fondly. Like train sets, kaleidoscopes, and kites, these are toys many adults had fun playing with years ago and are eager to share with their own children. In today’s update, we moved the Basic Fun Classic Strawberry Shortcake to the top spot, as it most closely resembles the berry-scented doll with posable arms and legs from the 1980s. It’s also available in a Basic Fun Classic Blueberry Muffin model and features the vintage Strawberry Shortcake signature outfit with a pink bonnet, a red dress, and green and white striped tights, with posable arms and legs and brushable hair. For a similar doll but one that’s completely soft, look to the Basic Fun Classic Soft, which is a 14-inch rag doll with curly red hair made of yarn and durable stitching throughout.

In today’s update, we added in The Bridge Direct Berry House, which comes with Miss Shortcake herself, along with a foldable house equipped with everything for a fun party, including balloons, a cake, and drinks. When the fun is done, just fold the case up with everything packed away neatly inside. It features handles on top for easy carrying. We also added in The Bridge Direct Berry Bake Shoppe, which comes with a doll along with a bright red and yellow oven with an opening door, as well as several pieces that can be used to create cakes and pies. These include frosting, fruit filling, a crust, and a strawberry.

The newly added multifunctional Birthday Cake Topper features eight plastic figurines that can adorn a birthday cake, and when dessert is done they can be cleaned off and used to play with. Also included are two standup cardboard cutouts that look great on the sides of a cake.

We removed the Berry Best Friends Plum Pudding, Berry Best Friends Orange Blossom, and Mix & Match Fashions, all of which contain parts that are small, including clothing and accessories, that are difficult to maneuver with little hands. No matter which doll or set you go with, make sure it’s labeled as appropriate for your child’s age, and always supervise kids during playtime, for safety’s sake.

Special Honors

Strawberry Shortcake Porcelain Collector Doll This berry sweet porcelain figurine bears all the details of the iconic 1980s doll, including the pink bonnet covered in red fruit and polka dots, the red dress with a green and white apron, the striped tights, freckled face, and red hair.
