The 8 Best Mechanical Bathroom Scales
This wiki has been updated 28 times since it was first published in November of 2018. Although it may be true that mechanical bathroom scales are less accurate than their digital cousins, for some, they're an uncomplicated way to gauge weight loss or gain. Here, you'll find models that are simple enough for just about everyone to use, including some with large dials that you can easily see. Just keep in mind that for the best results, you'll need to calibrate before each use. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
December 18, 2020:
Accuracy, ease of use, and an easy to read dial are the main factors we considered when updating these mechanical bathroom scales. We added the Health O Meter Oversized due to its large 13-inch base that provides a stable platform, and its five and a half inch dial.
Also included is the Taylor Precision Black, a contemporary styled scale that features a textured, anti-slip mat and a large black dial with easy to read measurements. However, it is a compact model that may not be the best choice for those with large feet.
The Pelstar Professional offers the biggest dial at eight inches, and since it is raised from the platform by four inches, it allows for more standing room while making it easier to read.

Investigated accuracy issues with Salter models, ultimately adding the 200 Academy Professional as a viable option because it can be reliable with proper calibration. Additionally selected two non-traditional models, the Health O Meter Beam Scale and Ozeri Rev Electro-Mechanical for those who may be interested in something a little different.
