The 8 Best Marine Radar Systems
This wiki has been updated 27 times since it was first published in February of 2019. Even the calmest waters can hold treacherous surprises, like well-disguised markers, easy-to-miss buoys and, of course, drunken college kids riding jet skis. These marine radar systems alert you to all the possible hazards on the horizon, with most being able to see dozens of nautical miles away. You'll still need to keep your eyes peeled, but they'll provide a decent warning in advance. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
February 25, 2019:
Before making a purchase, users should check to see if any additional equipment is required, as many don't come with displays or other necessary gear. If you already have some components at home, check to make sure they're compatible with what you're buying. The Simrad GO7 XSR comes complete with everything you should need to get started, which is convenient as it takes all of the guesswork out of the buying process; however, this also limits your ability to customize the setup to your liking. The two Garmin units on our list may look identical, but have clear differences in terms of performances, with the Fantom being the more powerful (and expensive) of the two.
