The 10 Best Inverted Umbrellas

This wiki has been updated 23 times since it was first published in January of 2019. Most people don't enjoy getting wet in the rain, but getting into a car or through the front door without being soaked by your umbrella is something we've mostly just had to deal with. That is, until the introduction of these inverted models, which close up instead of down to stop water from dripping onto the user. They come in many colors and styles, too, so you'll look good as well as stay dry. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

1. Sharpty Upside Down

2. Repel Reverse

3. Totes InBrella

Editor's Notes

December 04, 2020:

We made a pretty significant rehaul on this list because many items had availability issues, including the Eralove Transparent, the Fidus Windproof, and even, alas, the Bioworld Harry Potter. However, we liked a couple of travel versions, and added the Lanbrella Compact and also the Uvanti Windproof which has a nice reflective-edging safety feature for nighttime use. Those who love their full-size inverted umbrella may want to add one of these travel versions to their collection.

After careful consideration, we put the BetterBrella Double on the list despite that there are a few reports of durability issues; however, it has a lot of nice features for a good price. And for those of you who do not suffer from self-consciousness, never fear. We've kept the Luwint Folding Hat, aka "umbrella hat" on the list.

January 15, 2019:

Investigated models of varying sizes, colors, and price points. Decided to omit the BetterBrella despite the fact that it is well-known, as it suffers from durability issues that mean it isn't long-lasting. Added several similar models, however, including the Sharpty Upside Down, Repel Reverse, and Owen Kyne Double Layer, all of which are offered in neutral colors as well as bright and flashy designs.

4. Owen Kyne Double Layer

5. StrombergBrand Inversa

6. BetterBrella Double

7. Uvanti Windproof

8. Luwint Folding Hat

9. Bagail Reverse

10. Lanbrella Compact
