This wiki has been updated 24 times since it was first published in October of 2018. According to many sources, a garage door insulation kit can keep your car's shelter around 10 degrees warmer in the winter and 20 degrees cooler in the summer, making this area a more pleasant place to be and potentially lowering your energy bills. You'll also see, or should we say hear, a decrease in noise coming from the outside, so you can pursue auto repairs or your hobbies in tranquility. Editor's Notes

December 06, 2020:

You need insulation on the garage door to protect your car and other possessions. In the summer, the heat can cause car fluids to evaporate, and in the winter, chilling temperatures can cause liquids to freeze up. An insulated garage door helps solve these problems. Insulation keeps the space at a comfortable temperature throughout the year and helps reduce the level of outside noise.

We added the Ant Enterprises Kit and the SmartGARAGE Kit because they are easy to install, require minimal tools, and do an excellent job of keeping garages at comfortable temperatures.

We eliminated the Battic Door Kit, the ADO Products Single, and the Anco Products Complete. The Battic Door Kit took longer to install than expected. According to the manufacturer, installation should take less than 60 minutes. But customers warned buyers to prepare to spend at least three to four hours on the task if they want to do the job well. Unfortunately, the ADO Products Single had weak adhesive on the back of the metal pins, causing them to come off in the heat. Also, many customers felt the price for the Anco Products Complete was too high for the amount of product received, which was not enough to cover a two-car garage.

Investigated top choices that feature both pre-cut and roll insulation. For those with standard doors, the former work well, including the Matador X-Large and the Cellofoam North America 8-Piece; for those who have greater customization needs, the Reflectix Bubble Pack and the US Energy Products NASA Tech could be the way to go.
