The 10 Best Volleyball Knee Pads
This wiki has been updated 19 times since it was first published in March of 2019. Volleyball is one of the most enjoyable sports around — or at least it is until you finish a game with bruises and friction burns all over your legs. You can have all the fun and none of the pain if you wear a set of these high-quality knee pads, as they provide sufficient cushioning to protect your joints from minor injuries while you dive across the court. Editor's Notes
April 02, 2019:
While the selections on this list are obviously geared towards volleyball, several of them — like the Grandcow Protective and the Mizuno LR6 — can be used for other applications, such as other sports and construction tasks. This versatility didn't factor into our rankings (again, this is about suitability for volleyball), but it's a nice addition regardless.
One of the most important considerations is how much coverage you desire. Some, like the Bodyprox Protective, cover quite a bit of skin in either direction of the knee, while the Asics Ace Low Profile and others only cover the joint itself. This is largely a personal preference; just know that the larger ones protect more skin, but at the expense of some mobility.
You should also factor in what else you'll be wearing when you have these on. We assumed volleyball shorts over bare legs, which is why several models with heavy padding made the list. Those probably aren't good for pairing with a knee brace or longer bottoms, though, so opt for something like the Mizuno LR6 or the McDavid Hex 6440 if you need unobtrusive protection.
