Editor's Notes

October 24, 2019:

Tenon cutters can be used to cut down significantly on the time it takes to make round mortise and tenon joints for woodworking projects. The Veritas 860-5210, like most Veritas products, set a high standard for woodworking tools. The sloped body feeds the workpiece smoothly into the cutting blades and also helps create a radial profile, which results in a very aesthetically pleasing joint - particularly on angled joints you find on chair legs. The Lumberjack Tools HSBK1 is also a great model that includes a Forstner bit, which makes building joints quite easy. We included combination tenon cutters/plug cutters like the Grizzly Industrial H7693 because they can be used to make pegs but they require quite a bit more work to get the tenons to the finished stage.

Working with wood creates fine dust particles that can be harmful if inhaled for extended periods of time. Always use an adequately rated face mask to avoid health complications.
