The 10 Best Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders
This wiki has been updated 22 times since it was first published in October of 2018. Watching birds as they stop by your backyard for a snack is one of the most relaxing things in the world. Unfortunately, finding your feeders empty because those stupid rodents got into them again is one of the most infuriating. These squirrel-proof models are resistant to varmint intrusions, ensuring there's plenty of food for your winged visitors — and saving you some money on refills, to boot. We removed the Newcrea Clear due to unavailability and replaced it with the Nature’s Hangout Clear, which is a similar but upgraded model. It has a deep tray to help prevent seeds from falling out and strong suction cups that have a lifetime guarantee. The bird feeder even comes with an extra set of suction cups, as a bonus. This feeder allows you to enjoy close-up bird watching from inside your house.
We removed the Myard Double-Sided due to unavailability and replaced it with the Nature Products Classic, which is a reliable squirrel deterrent. Even if squirrels do manage to climb up the pole, the plastic baffle prevents them from reaching the seeds. With this unit, you have to stay on top of filling it with seeds because small birds can occasionally get trapped inside it when it's empty.
Due to many complaints about electronics failures with the electronic shock feature, we have removed the Wild Bill's 8 Station and replaced it with the Squirrel Buster Plus. When squirrels hang on the rim of this model, their heavier weight causes the seed ports to automatically close, blocking access to the seeds. Just a note about the differences between the Squirrel Buster Standard and the Squirrel Buster Plus - the Plus model offers a special cardinal ring designed to attract Northern Cardinals, but you may also have to experiment with different types of seed to attract them. It has a separately sold pole if you prefer to pole mount it, and it comes at a higher price than the Squirrel Buster Standard.

Added the Woodlink Absolute 7533, due mainly to its large capacity, which reduces the need for upkeep. Included the Squirrel Solution 200, but docked it a few points because it's not ideal for larger species; still, its impressive ability to keep squirrels at bay definitely warrants a high ranking.
