The 10 Best Razor Electric Scooters
This wiki has been updated 25 times since it was first published in August of 2018. During the first few years of the 21st century, Razor scooters were all the rage. The speedy rise in popularity of their people-powered units spurred the launch of these electric models, which are typically operated using a twist throttle. Available in an array of sizes and designs, these battery-powered e-scooters serve as a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly mode of transportation. November 30, 2020:
We compiled this list of electric Razor scooters to span the entire range on offer, taking in factors such as maximum weight of the rider, price, aesthetics, age, and terrain. Of all these considerations, it's the weight of the person riding the scooter that should be prioritized; some of these scooters are made with adults in mind while others simply won't support anything much heavier than 100 pounds.
For the kids, we kept the popular E100, but changed it to the Power Core E100, a quieter model that utilizes a hub motor, providing less maintenance than the chain-driven option, and giving a few more minutes ride time from the two 12-volt batteries. The Power Core E90 and the E125 Scooter are also made to withstand only 120 pounds of weight, and both offer fairly safe top speeds of around 10 miles per hour.
Teenagers may want to explore models like the RX200 Off-Road, which has gears for generating extra torque on rough terrain, or perhaps ride to school in comfort on the E200S Seated, or be the envy of their classmates with the eye-catching retro style of the Miniature Euro - all of which can support up to 154 pounds.
With a 220-pound limit, adults can enjoy a standing ride to work on the E300 Ride On or E325 Motorized, or settle themselves into the large, padded seat of the EcoSmart Metro to cruise to the shops, using the rear basket to carry the groceries. We felt that the fairly unpopular A2 didn't offer anything that many of the other children's options did, so we freed up the space to include the UB1 Electric, an option to complement the Metro that prioritizes comfort for older commuters.
We must reiterate that riding these scooters is not without risk and children should be supervised by adults, always wear a helmet, and should be made aware of road safety rules and laws.

Before settling on an electric scooter, make sure to note the weight limit, as some models are specifically for youngsters; overloading a scooter can risk ruining its motor. The EcoSmart Metro, Miniature Euro and E325 Motorized are designed for adult use, though even these have weight limits that should be abided by.
If speed is what you're looking for, the EcoSmart Metro will zip you around town at 18 mph -- about six times the average walking speed -- which is fast enough to replace a car for surface street travel. The Miniature Euro is not too far behind with a top speed of 15 mph.
Another thing to keep in mind is tire diameter. Generally, the smaller the tires, the bumpier the ride will be. Our top pick, the E325 Motorized, excels in this category with 16-inch pneumatic tube tires. The Miniature Euro also provides a smooth ride with 12-inch tires.
You'll want to purchase a few accessories to go along with your new scooter, such as a helmet to help protect your head and a lock to secure your scooter when you park it.
