This wiki has been updated 24 times since it was first published in December of 2018. Nothing ruins a day or night in the great outdoors quicker than an attack from blood-sucking mosquitoes or irritating no-see-ums. But with one of these pop-up nets, you can enjoy your time outside without having to worry about becoming a meal for flying pests. We've also included some models ideal for indoor use for people who like to sleep with their windows open and don't have screens. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

August 26, 2020:

Whether you live in a location where mosquitoes are known to carry nasty diseases, or you simply don't want to deal with the nuisance of itchy bites, a pop-up mosquito net can help solve your problems. We wanted to include as much variety on this list as possible, while still keeping an eye on quality of course, so there would be one to suit every need, from indoor use on beds to outdoor gatherings.

Falling into the former category of models ideal for indoor use on top of a bed, we have the Ammer U-Door, Alvantor Bed Canopy, and Even Naturals Fly Screen. The Ammer U-Door and Even Naturals Fly Screen are suitable for use on king or queen size beds, while the Alvantor Bed Canopy comes in twin and full size options. Of these, the Ammer may be the most attractive thanks to its lace accents, but the Alvantor does seem to be the sturdiest and has the added benefit of privacy curtains. For infants who are still in the crib, we have the Pro Baby Safety Canopy, which can also be used with many pack-and-plays.

If looking for something for outdoor use to host a gathering of people, you will want to turn to either the Alvantor Screen House or Gazelle Tents G6. In the largest option, the Alvantor Screen House can comfortably accommodate up to 15 people, while the Gazelle Tents G6 is suitable for up to eight. If you don't mind the smaller size, the G6 offers better protection against the elements and is even compatible with wind panels, though they must be purchased separately from the company. On the other hand, the Alvantor offers a better view of your surroundings and better ventilation.

As long as you aren't expecting any rain, the SansBug SB1PB, EasyGo Bug Barrier, and Runnzer Single can all take the place of a one-person tent on camping trips. Not only do the offer the benefit of being lighter in weight, but they are usually quite a bit more affordable too.

We realize people have many needs from pop-up mosquito nets. For that reason, we did our best to include styles to suit a variety of uses, from sleeping outdoors to watching sporting events. We put a precedence on only selecting models with durable mesh, as this is a common point of failure on low quality options.
