Editor's Notes
May 27, 2020:
If you never seem to have enough storage space, a good set of plastic storage drawers will help you get organized, and we've kept versions of all sizes for small to large items. On the smaller side of the size spectrum, there's the ArtBin Organizer, the Akro-Mils Hardware and Craft, and the Iris USA Cabinet. These are perfect for hardware, electrical components, beads, sewing threads, batteries, and more. They're all fairly sturdy, and all can be mounted on a wall for your convenience. There's also the iDesign Vanity Organizer. It doesn't hold as much as the aforementioned, but it's arguably more attractive, especially since it comes in a wide range of colors. For a few pieces of jewelry or makeup, it should do the trick, but don't plan on it to help with large organizational projects.
On the larger side are the Giantex Rolling and the Sterilite Cart, both of which roll, and the Homz Wide and the Sterilite Tower, which do not. Of these, the Giantex and the Tower are your best bet for decorative needs, whereas the other two have a more utilitarian vibe. The Iris USA Chest is a good choice, as well, especially since it is offered in a range of sizes. Note, though, that scrapbookers may find this one disappointing, as the larger versions cannot comfortably accommodate standard 12-inch-square scrapbooking paper. But it will hold a lot of other craft supplies, from hand punches to knitting needles.

Uline Stack and Nest Containers If you need to store edible goods, the Uline Stack and Nest Containers, which are FDA compliant for direct food contact, are a good alternative to standard plastic drawers. There are several colors to select from, as well as plenty of sizes, but you will need to purchase the lids separately. uline.com
Kartell Componibili The brainchild of Italian architect Anna Castelli Ferrieri, the Kartell Componibili belongs to New York City's Museum of Modern Art, but you can bring home one of your own, as they are reproduced in a range of sizes and colors. Their round, sleek design is eye-catching, to say the least, but they are completely usable, so they don't just take up space. kartell.com
