This wiki has been updated 34 times since it was first published in December of 2016. It's not fair that being the cook means you are stuck in the kitchen while your friends enjoy the nice weather on the patio or deck. Outdoor ovens fix that problem and allow you to prepare everyone's favorite dishes in the middle of the action whether you're camping, having a backyard barbecue, or tailgating. We've selected both general purpose models and those specifically designed for pizzas. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

November 07, 2019:

During this update, we removed the Alfresco Home Fornetto due to availability issues. In addition to not finding it at most online stores, we could no longer find it on the manufacturer's website, leading us to believe it may have been discontinued. We also eliminated the Martin Portable because we felt the Camp Chef COVEN is a much better option that has more features, like a two-burner stove and integrated wind guard, yet doesn't cost that much more.

Additionally we replaced the EcoQue 2nd Generation with the EcoQue ECO-71010-STPK Generation 3, which is simply the newest iteration of this excellent outdoor oven. It features enough cooking space to prepare large meals, can be used to smoke meats, and is equipped with a glow-in-the-dark thermometer for convenient nighttime use. We also replaced the Ooni 3 with the Ooni Pro, which has a larger capacity, making it a bit more versatile.

The ilFornino Professional Series il3002 is a new addition that has a commercial-quality build to ensure it lasts through years of use and exposure to the elements. It boasts a storage shelf on the bottom for wood, a 1,007-square inch cooking area, and casters for easy repositioning. Though slightly lesser in build quality, but no less effective, the Thor 01SS offers many similar features for a more wallet-friendly price.

Anyone who hikes to their campsite, or simply packs a lot and doesn't have much space in their vehicle to spare, should look to the Coleman Camp, which folds completely flat. It is worth noting that it requires you to have the company's liquid fuel or propane stove though, since it doesn't have its own heating element.

If you were on the fence about whether to get a chiminea, grill, or pizza oven for your backyard, fret no more. The Deeco Aztec Allure offers the functionality of all three of these items, in one attractive package.
