This wiki has been updated 30 times since it was first published in December of 2017. An outdoor baby swing enables you to enjoy the outdoors while giving your infant the pleasures of a soothing, rocking motion in the fresh air. All of our selections are built to be safe and fun, with some being capable of converting to accommodate children as they grow. Of course, you should always supervise any youngster when in one of these. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

September 11, 2019:

Outdoor infant swings have very different safety guidelines than the popular indoor baby swings that parents use to soothe and occupy a newborn while finishing up the dishes nearby or getting dinner on the table. During the infant to early toddler stage, caregivers need to stay within arms reach of any outdoor swing, and no baby should be placed in one until they can sit up confidently without assistance, typically around nine months.

The Eastern Jungle Gym Bucket remains our top choice for its simplicity and playground-quality durability. There are no straps or buckles to fiddle with, and the hanging chains ensure that weather won't break them down over time. Plus most toddlers will love having a swing just like the one at the park.

We removed the Happy Pie Infant to Toddler swing because the materials don't hold up to outdoor weather and the wood parts are prone to splitting over time. We replaced it with the TP Toys Quadpod. This sturdy option won't rot after years in the elements, plus it's a true infant to toddler choice, with a supportive baby seat with t-bar restraint that completely converts to a big kid platform seat.
