Editor's Notes

October 28, 2020:

Removed the BeautyStar Gold due to complaints about the plastic pieces breaking and the hair falling out when combed and replaced it with the Hairingrid Black, an affordable option that is available in many colors and is very good for braiding. We also removed the MySweety Colorful because of similar issues with shedding, tangling, and the quality of the clamp, and instead added the Training Head Colorful, which has a more vibrant look and works for anything that doesn't involve the addition of product.

October 10, 2019:

Most people in the market for a mannequin head with hair are cosmetology students or hair stylists, so made sure to look for options that are high-quality enough for professional use. If you want to practice dyeing, straightening, or curling, you should make sure you get a model with real human hair, like the Hairealm Cosmetology. Most synthetic fibers can't handle heat or chemicals, but they're usually cheaper and can be good for practicing cuts and braids.

Not all hair is the same, so there are options here with different textures. For example, if you have a lot of customers of African descent, the Hairginkgo Doll or Hairealm Afro can be a useful practice tool.

While these mannequins are often used by professionals, they can also make great gifts for creative kids who want to experiment with beauty. Some models allow little ones to practice makeup on the face, so that they can try out a whole new look without messing up their own skin and hair.
