Editor's Notes
February 15, 2021:
We’ve highlighted some interesting options here with a variety of designs and capacities that may suit a range of vehicles and needs - three-wheelers for instance may benefit from a ramp with support in the middle, like the Yutrax TX103. This list remains virtually unchanged from the previous update, as these models are as sturdy and reliable as - and in some cases, better than - any other options available on the market today, and I’ve only had to remove the Black Widow MF-12038 because I unfortunately didn’t feel that its price justified its capacity. Apart from the Vestil RAMP-72 which is made from steel, all the options in this list are aluminum, which is a superior material for loading ramps, as it is both lighter and offers a higher capacity pound-for-pound compared to steel ramps, and for the amount of material that a ramp uses, aluminum barely costs more than steel anyway.
All but one of these ramps offer capacities between 750 to 2,000 lbs, which make them suitable for loading anything from a motorcycle to a smaller utility vehicle; while the Gen-Y GHR84 is the standout model here, offering a whopping 6,000-pound capacity, making it suitable for hitching to the back of a car hauler trailer – for reference, a Ford F-150 truck weighs just over 5,000 pounds.

Versatility and an ability to support heavy weight loads are both important values for this product category, since loading ramps should be able to accommodate a variety of heavy equipment, whether it's lawn mowers, snowmobiles, or motorcycles.
I maintained the Gen-Y GHR84 for their combined 6,000-pound threshold as well as their widely-positioned and serrated cross rungs, which makes it easy to load machines in harsh weather conditions. Added the Pit Posse PP2755 for its collapsible design, heavy-duty hinges and joints, as well as the welded crossbars, which ensure smooth folding and unfolding. Unlike many of the others on the list, the patented S-curves and dual-arch design on the CargoSmart Aluminum offer high-traction tread and smooth transitions of large equipment from the ground to a truck bed. Maintained the Black Widow MF-12038 for its full-width lip and easy-to-store 3-piece construction. Also kept the Vestil RAMP-72 for their bolt-on overlapping lips that prevent damage to truck beds and trailers, particularly when loading delicate and heavy machines like snowblowers and motorcycles. Finally, included the Yutrax Rush for their patented double-jointed technology, ensuring they lock securely in place when folded, while their V-shaped side rails keep equipment centered. Additionally, the tightly-gapped rung spacing keeps equipment safely on track with minimal slippage.
