The 10 Best Lego Star Wars Sets
This wiki has been updated 29 times since it was first published in November of 2017. The Force is very strong with these Legos — and by "The Force," we mean the urge to spend way too much money collecting every set. But if you are a "Star Wars" fanatic, you'll love playing with (and admiring) these intricately-designed toys, each of which represents a special moment or vehicle in the iconic series, and will keep adults and children occupied for hours on end. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
November 12, 2019:
There are so many excellent Lego Star Wars sets out there that it's hard narrowing it down to just ten, but we parsed through the scores of available kits to handpick fan favorites known for their exceptional builds, impressive detail, attractive display potential, and more. When paired with a Star Wars book, one of these sets makes the perfect gift for super fans young and old.
The Carbon-Freezing Chamber is a solid entry-level choice, both build and price-wise, as is the First Order Stormtrooper. The former is loaded with enough thoughtful features to make any Star Wars lover happy, but its play value is a bit limited. For something a little more challenging and detailed but still in the same vein, consider Death Star Final Duel. And if you want to level up from those, the Imperial Star Destroyer is detailed yet accessible, and the Jawa Sandcrawler offers a challenging but rewarding building experience.
We let go of the AT-ST Walker to pave the way for the BB-8 Building Kit, which we felt was more compelling to newer generations of fans. It makes for a great display piece when complete and is fun to play with, but be aware that it doesn't roll like the real BB-8. We also, reluctantly, said goodbye to the AT-AT Imperial Walker, which we still feel is a classic set that has really great play value. However, it pales in comparison to the ultra-intricate Death Star Space Station, which comes at a premium price. Many say it's worth it, though, thanks to its plethora of playable rooms, included minifigures, size, and potential for recreating many key scenes from the franchise, plus new ones all of your own making.
