The 10 Best Large Digital Photo Frames
This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in August of 2018. The way we store photos has changed from albums to hard drives, so the way we view them should evolve, too. These digital picture frames, all of which have a 13-inch or larger screen, allow you to display thousands of special moments from your life without the need for acres of wall or mantelpiece space. Many can play music and videos, and offer WiFi connectivity, too. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
November 02, 2020:
Digital photo frames are one of the best ways to put your favorite pictures out on display. Because they constantly switch from image to image, they are more interesting than traditional physical picture frames. This also means you'll get to see more of your images on a regular basis. Plus, some are even capable of displaying videos.
During our latest update, we removed the MRQ 15.6 and replaced it with the MRQ 14 DGF140 simply because the latter is more budget friendly, though it does have a slightly smaller screen. However, they both offer the same functionality. We also added the MRQ DGF215 as an alternative to the MRQ 15.6. It has the same 15-inch screen, but features Wi-Fi connectivity for updating it with files remotely, and 16 gigabytes of internal memory.
When analyzing the various Nix models on the list, we thought it prudent to eliminate the Nix Advance. The Nixplay Seed Wave is packed with useful features, like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the ability to be controlled via Alexa, and a full HD display, while the Nix Lux offers a more traditional aesthetic, with its silver or faux-wood frame options. Conversely, the Nix Advance has neither Wi-Fi nor a physical design that stands out from the pack, plus it has a lackluster 1024x768 display, so there was really no reason to keep it on the list when everything it offers can be found in at least one or more of the other models we recommend. In its place came the Aluratek ADMPFD13F, which has a full HD display screen and comes with two interchangeable wood frames.
Some other changes included replacing the Meural Canvas with the Meural Canvas II, the latter of which offers more responsive motion controls, slightly faster and more stable Wi-Fi, and more mounting options, as well as the Atatat 17.3 as another 17-inch option to compete with the more expensive Aluratek AWS17F.

Forget about spending a bunch of money printing up photos, or being relegated to only viewing them when on your laptop or mobile device. With these digital photo frames, you can display thousands of your favorite pictures in an ever-changing slide show, without taking up all your wall space. We focused solely on models with a 13-inch or larger display to ensure people can see them clearly from across the room.
If you want to be able to remotely manage the files on your device, you'll want to look to the Nixplay Seed Wave, Meural Canvas, Aluratek AWS17F, Pixal Pix-Star, and Feelcare HN-DPF1560, all of which are equipped with Wi-Fi. The Nixplay Seed Wave and Meural Canvas are the standout models in this grouping. The former because of its powerful five-watt speakers and Alexa integration, and the latter because of its large 27-inch display that is useful for showing off artwork, in addition to your favorite photos.
Those who want something very simple to set up will want to consider the Micca Neo and Nix Lux. Simply load up a USB drive or SD card with your images, plug them in, and these units will immediately start displaying a slide show.
Since we understand that some of these units can be prohibitively expensive for consumers, we made it a point to include some wallet-friendly models, such as the Micca Neo, Nix Advance, and MRQ 15.6. While they may be lacking in some features, namely Wi-Fi, they do still allow you to display crisp and vibrant slideshows of any photos you choose.
