The 10 Best Ice Scrapers
This wiki has been updated 29 times since it was first published in January of 2017. An ice scraper is often one of those things you don't realize you need until that first winter storm hits, and a decent model can make or break your early morning commute or a road trip through harsh weather. Here, we have listed both scraper-only models for frost and thick ice as well as broom/scraper combos that help you clear away heavy snowfall, even from the roof When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
February 13, 2020:
Many of our choices are an ice scraper/broom combo because nobody wants to find a place to store two different tools in their limited car space. It also makes the scraper easier to find and you won't find yourself using your arm to clear snow.
We added the True Temper Scratch-Free to our selections for those who are particular about the materials used on their car's finish. Its foam head replaces a brush for those concerned about bristles dulling the paint.
Our scraper only choices can be stored out of sight and out of the way in most glove compartments or the door's side pocket. Even though the materials aren't the most durable, we chose to keep the Wild Cow Quilted Mitt for the most frigid climates. Most drivers don't want to wear giant thick gloves when driving, so this option will keep hands warm for those few minutes you spend outside.

Reviewed all Hopkins models for the most useful, omitting the Ice Crusher because of complaints about potential scratching. Added two budget picks, the Desired Tools and Snow Joe Edge models. Replaced the Dragon Squama mitt with one priced more reasonably.
