This wiki has been updated 27 times since it was first published in October of 2017. Are you tired of store-bought ice cream cones that always seem to taste a little bit stale when you get to the end of the box? With one of these simple-to-use waffle cone makers, you can make your own, fresh on demand. They let you customize the batter ingredients to suit your preferences, and some are versatile enough to also make a variety of other tasty treats, too. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

August 07, 2020:

We've kept a range of electric ice cream cone makers, but we've also opted to fill out our selection of manual options, for those who don't mind a little extra work. New additions include the Ejoyway Iron, which is compatible with gas stoves. It's a simple device, but it doesn't have a lip around the edge, so you may find yourself with a mess if you pour too much batter in it. We added the O'Creme Roller, as well, which lets you mold the cones you've made with the help of a frying pan. It's also a handy replacement should you lose the mold that comes with your electric cone maker.

When it comes to electric choices, we still think the Chef's Choice KrumKake and the CucinaPro Pizzelle Baker represent a good value. These have decorative plates; if you want a traditional waffle cone, with a standard grid pattern, look to the Brentwood Appliances Blue or the CucinaPro Homemade, instead. The latter is particularly nice to have on hand if you love ice cream, since it comes with a mold for producing waffle bowls. Or, for busy settings, there's the ALDKitchen Commercial, a somewhat pricey choice that's made to handle a high volume of treats.

Finally, we decided to remove the Chef Buddy 82-MM1234, after some consideration. Although some issues may be caused by user error, there are currently plenty of frustration-free choices out there, so the hassle is probably not worth it for most.

March 15, 2019:

To offer a viable option for professional chefs and cooks who typically prepare large volumes of food, we've added the Waring Commercial Double, a countertop model that is both sturdy and efficient. The Nordic Ware Norwegian Iron was also included because of its appealing old-school design and dependable results. Complaints about the Chef Buddy 82-MM1234 malfunctioning were investigated and determined to be insignificant. Unsatisfactory results appear to be caused by user error.

Special Honors

Gold Medal Giant Cone Baker You can count on the Gold Medal Giant Cone Baker to produce evenly browned treats thanks to solid state electronics that offer precise heating, rather than uneven temperatures throughout the plates. This commercial-quality unit allows you to change both the temperature and time settings, too, an ability not found on most home units. shop.gmpopcorn.com

Carnival King WCM1 The Carnival King WCM1 has all the features you'd expect from a top-notch restaurant-quality model, including bright indicator lights, a timer that chimes loudly, and an adjustable thermostat. Capable of producing up to 40 waffle cones per hour, it heats all the way up to 570 degrees Fahrenheit but has a cool-touch handle for your safety. carnivalkingsupplies.com
