Hunting and animal consumption pose interesting and difficult ethical questions. While none of these books dive very deeply into the debates and relevant concerns, some like Meat Eater not only instruct on successful hunting practices but also touch on some of the important relations we may bear to non-human animals; particularly those we hunt and eat. In Meat Eater, Steven Rinella introduces new and old generations of hunters to the unseen implications of the sport, which helps instill in them responsible and ethical practices such as the importance of shot placement (for a quick and ethical kill) and the importance of using as much of the animal as is possible.
The Total Deer Hunter Manual is a great choice if you want to get one book that will teach you much of the information you need to know if you're going to stalk deer. Stalking is the most difficult, but also the most rewarding, method of hunting deer. After reading the book, you'll have in-depth knowledge about things like the complexities and significance of deer vocalizations, and even learning how to determine why exactly you haven't spotted a buck.
