Editor's Notes

March 14, 2019:

When it comes to grout removal, the name that often pops into the minds of home owners and professionals alike is Dremel. We added the Multi-Max MM40 for those who haven't invested in a Dremel yet; it's both powerful enough for a range of jobs as well as easy enough to use. We also selected the DeWalt Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit, which is plenty versatile but does have one small drawback: the power switch can be accidentally activated if you aren't paying attention to how you set it down. This perhaps makes it better for attentive users. Because not everyone will want to invest in a power tool, we also added simple manual tools, including those from Edward Tool and QEP. Considering sharpness and longevity, the QEP model probably has the edge (no pun intended), but for their respective prices, neither is a large investment risk.
