Editor's Notes

October 21, 2019:

During this round of updates, we bumped the Logan 704-1 Elite a little further down the line, favoring options that offered automatic-lubrication features and tungsten carbide wheels in lieu of steel. We also included the Rainbow Art Glass Gemini Taurus 3, the first electric-saw option to be featured in these rankings, and put it right on top of our list.

While it could easily be argued that the Gemini Taurus 3 is the slowest cutting option ranked here, and therefore not deserving of the top spot, I would counter that while the speed at which it works is limiting, the options that it opens up for you – in terms of cuts that just couldn’t be accomplished even by the most proficient snap-and-scorer out there – more than makes up for that. Although plunge cuts might not be easily accomplished with this option, you should still be able to cut pieces out of glass panes if you prepare pilot holes using a glass drill bit.

4. Toyo Pistol Grip

5. Verdugo Gift Co. CBCUSBLK

6. Ephrem's Bottle Cutter Kit

7. Logan 704-1 Elite

8. Glastar Strip and Circle

9. JPD Heavy-Duty Circular

His past career landed him a depth of knowledge in tools and hardware, while his current career schooled him in audio, video and camera equipment. During his leisure time, he’s learned lots about outdoor gear, and years of tiresome backyard maintenance have taught him all about pools and hot tubs.
