This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in February of 2018. If you're the type of guy who's extremely hard on his accessories, then you should consider investing in a G Shock watch. Made by Casio, these timepieces boast durable bands and proprietary cages suspending the movements to shield them from impact damage, so they can take almost anything that most men are capable of throwing at them — and they're easy on the eyes, to boot. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

May 14, 2020:

Casio goes a good job keeping their stock up to date, with subtle changes to features and designs that allow them to churn out a large number of models in a pretty short time span. We made some efforts to remove models that were a bit long in the tooth and replace them with more contemporary offerings, like the Neobrite MTG-B1000XB with its durable carbon composite case.

And while the classic design of the original G Shock never went out of style, it's undergone a resurgence in recent years that coincides with a boom in the watch sector, and Casio has capitalized by creating a whole slew of collectible versions, like the all steel Connected Radio Solar and the titanium model in our special honors section.

These timepieces also remain favorites of military men, and models like the Frogman Black Solar GWF1000 are commonly seen on the wrists of marines, especially with its water-friendly features like a 200-meter pressure rating and an accurate tide graph. Of course, these pricier models aren't the only offerings by the company, and feature-rich, inexpensive models like the Rescue Series Red offer similar capabilities in durable packages, even if they tend to be a little less accurate and reliable.

Special Honors

Mr. G G100B-1A This model incorporates a number of features you'd expect to see on a luxury timepiece, like sapphire glass with an anti-reflective treatment and an outstanding metal bracelet. It displays two time zones simultaneously, and has a crown guard system that doesn't detract from the ease with which you can set its various functions. It is, however, priced a lot like those high-end offerings. gshock.com

G-Steel GST-B100 This is a solar powered selection with some of the company's most iconic features, including a nine o'clock disk indicator, high-performance Neobrite backlight, and reliable radio-controlled timekeeping. Its case features a screw down crown and is ion-plated to turn it black, and its traditional resin strap matches it nicely. gshock.com

Tough Solar GMW-B5000 While this is certainly one of the most expensive models to come in the line's trademark case design, it boasts some special features that make it particularly collectible, like a titanium construction with a diamond-like carbon finish that creates a camouflage color throughout. A brick background on the face harkens back to some of the earliest models, and its bracelet is secured by a high-quality clasp closure. gshock.com
