Flying tying vises are designed to do one thing, making creating your own lures significantly easier. Because of that, our focus was on features that enhance that. Of course, we weren't willing to sacrifice on quality just for convenience, so the models on our list are also extremely well made. The only exception to this would be the Creative Angler Super AA Chrome. However, we believe its extremely low price can make it a good choice for somebody who is just testing out making their own lures and not yet ready to buy a more expensive model.
While the Stonfo Transformer was one of our favorite models because of the versatility it offers, it didn't claim our top spot due to its exorbitant price. Instead, that honor went to the Peak Fishing Rotary, which we feel even the most experienced fly tiers will be happy with. It offers smooth rotation, produces a secure hold on hooks, and features a build quality that could make it last a lifetime.
Those who like to tie their lures in the field, or perhaps at picnic table near the water, should consider the Griffin Montana Mongoose, Regal Vise Travel, and Zephr Travel Kit, as they are all designed for convenient transport.
