Editor's Notes
March 05, 2019:
Removed both Hy-C Liberty models from the list due to recent user reports of inaccurate size descriptions, missing assembly hardware and poor craftsmanship. Numerous accounts indicate that the Vestal 324ML offers excellent build quality and durability, including the ability to withstand extended daily use without breaking down, which led me to upgrade its position in the rankings. Added the Panacea 15418 as a budget-friendly option, which is ideal for small to medium-sized fires and best suited for occasional use. The Plow & Hearth Deep Bed was another addition — thanks to its U-shaped design and small openings, it’s able to keep logs, hot coal and ash centralized on the grate, which enables fires to burn more efficiently for longer periods of time than many models. Users really seem to appreciate this aspect.
