This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in January of 2019. Keeping your home neat and tidy is extremely difficult, especially when you realize many household cleaners are filled with chemicals that you'd never willingly subject your family to. These enzyme-based options are capable of wiping away grime, pet stains, mold, and all manner of messes that may be lurking around your living areas — and they're safe for use near kids and animals. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

2. Puracy Baby Natural

Editor's Notes

March 02, 2021:

Generally, when it comes to something like cleaners, laundry detergents, etc, we like to stick with what has been proven to work, which is why don't make a ton of changes to our recommendations for them each year. That being said, we are certainly willing to update our recommendations when we find something that either works better, is more affordable for the same level of efficacy, or will appeal to more people in one way or another.

With the above in mind, we decided to eliminate Genesis Kleen-Free Naturally in favor of Amazon Commercial Multi-Purpose. While both are equally versatile, the latter comes for about half the price and can be used just as sparingly because it is also very concentrated. We also chose to replace Puracy Natural with Puracy Baby Natural. Though very similar, the latter is safe to use around kids and pets and on any washable fabric, whereas the former doesn't carry that same rating. And considering they both remove stubborn stains well, there is no reason not to choose Baby Natural.

Other than the above mentioned formulas, the rest of our selections remain the same and we continue to like them for all the reasons we chose them last time around.

While some of the options on this list are targeted towards pet owners, their ability to break down and remove grass, urine, and poop stains means that they'll also do well on other common messes. However, we also included more general selections as well, so the immaculate homeowner might want to consider buying a few different brands to cover all their bases.

4. Enzyme Magic Mold

5. Biokleen Bac-Out

6. Amazon Commercial Multi-Purpose

7. Marigold & Peppa Pet Stain

8. Naturally It's Clean Floors

9. Bubba's Terminator

10. Earthworm Carpet & Upholstery
