Editor's Notes
March 22, 2019:
Adaptability is one concept I kept in mind with this topic, considering that the applications of these tripods can range across different careers and types of job sites. I tried to focus on both stability and adjustability for all options. For example, I added the Stabila 08560 for its retractable rubber feet and leg points to keep it steady on any type of indoor floor surface or outdoor terrain. Also maintained the Johnson 40-6330 on this same theme due to its integrated chains, which can prevent slippage on rolling hills. Added the Geekoto CT25Pro for its convertible design and 360-degree rotating ball joint for snapping photos in any direction. The Orion Paragon is a great option for supporting a wide variety of heavy camera and telescope equipment, thanks to its triple-braced legs. I also thought the Zomei Z818C was a worthy contender, particularly for its innovative use of a spring-loaded hook for accommodating extra stabilizing weight in windy outdoor environments. I also maintained the AdirPro 790-77 for its all-in-one versatility as a telescoping rotary laser pole, tripod, and mount.
