The 10 Best Electric Mops
This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in January of 2019. Nothing refreshes your home faster than spotless floors, but buckets of dirty water and endless scrubbing are hassles that absolutely no one wants to deal with. Fortunately, there are plenty of user-friendly electric mops that steam and scour away messes, saving you time, energy, and sweat. We've added some that can tackle rugs, as well, so you can revitalize your high-traffic areas in a flash. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
November 01, 2020:
We removed the Oreck Orbiter for this update, since it’s more of a floor scrubber and polisher, and doesn’t provide the soft touch we’re looking for in a residential mop. We also removed the Elicto Wireless due to availability issues, and the Nellie's Wow Cordless because of quality control concerns.
We added two additional steam options, the PurSteam 10-in-1 and the Shark Pocket. Shark brand models are generally well-respected, and the Shark Pocket is a nice budget-friendly option for those who aren’t looking to spend too much. It’s also a compact model that weighs less than five pounds, so it would also be good for apartment dwellers who don’t have a lot of extra storage space.
We also added the Vmai Cordless, a multi-functional model with a 60-minute runtime. You’ll have to provide the solution, but this option can also be used as a floor waxer. It even includes the special pads needed for waxing. Its adjustable handle caught my attention, a feature that allows you to reach all the way under large tables, or other furniture, without bending over too much.
If these options are too pricey, or you don't think an electric mop is for you, a standard sponge mop or spray mop might be a better choice.

Investigated models from popular manufacturer Bissell, adding the PowerFresh as a top choice despite past issues with the cap, which seem to have been addressed. Also selected the SharkNinja Shark Genius because of its overall durability and functionality as well as the Oreck Orbiter for tougher jobs.
