This wiki has been updated 30 times since it was first published in May of 2016. Despite promises about us all living and working in a paperless environment by now, it hasn't happened yet and probably never will. If, like the rest of us, you're still using hard copy documents and need to keep track of them, you may want to check out these date stamps. They're ideal for marking items as "received," "paid," and more, with customizable options for versatility. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

August 14, 2019:

Like the fax machine, the date stamp is one of those items that businesses, teachers, governmental offices, and more still need, even though much of today’s work is tracked digitally. To help folks in these situations, we’ve looked for both manual and electric date stamps. In the former category, we still think the Trodat Professional 4.0 is a good bet since it’s simple, built to last, and not overly expensive. We added the MaxMark XL, as well, which is offered with a range of messages, including deposited, faxed, and paid. Its two-color printing is clear and stands out, too. As for electric options, we’ve kept the AT-3000R Digital and added the Pyramid 3500. Both are fairly easy to set up and can be locked, so you don’t have to worry about time theft. The latter is also available in a SmartSite alignment version that makes aligning cards a breeze, although this feature does increase the price quite a bit.

Special Honors

Bidwell Rapidprint The Bidwell Rapidprint line may be pricey, but each machine is made for durability and longevity that’s hard to beat. And with an adjustable stamping force, they let you work easily with multi-copy forms. bidwellinc.com
