This wiki has been updated 20 times since it was first published in October of 2018. Playing games on a flat-screen monitor can't beat the immersive experience you can get when you fire up your favorite titles on one of the curved models we've included here. These screens are designed to maximize the clarity and quality of their displays, and boast fast refresh rates, near-instant response times, and even special filters capable of protecting your eyes. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

September 18, 2020:

Every company included in our previous ranking has since come out with superior offerings, so we wiped the whole slate clean and rebuilt our selection from the ground up. We also added a company to the list that didn't quite make the cut the last time around, with the Alienware AW3420DW, a model with excellent color coverage and an ambient light on the back of its stand that can actually respond to the action on screen to increase your sense of immersion while also giving your eyes a break from the screen's glow if your playing in an otherwise dark room.

Users should consider their preferred graphics cards when looking at these models, as well, as some are designed to work with AMD FreeSync 2, and others with NVIDIA's G-Sync technology, both of which are designed to synchronize the display's refresh rate with the signal they receive from the GPU. That helps ensure your picture is not just smooth, but appropriately smooth for the content at hand, and won't tear on you. The LG 38GL950G-B, for example, is an NVIDIA-compatible monitor, where the massive Samsung QLED CRG9 works with AMD graphics cards.

November 02, 2018:

With a lot of potential features to scrutinize, this list prioritizes refresh rate and response time, though some models climbed higher on the list thanks to certain other features. Chief among those was any kind of eye protection, whether through flicker reduction or blue light filters, like you can see on the Asus UWQHD and the Acer ED273.

4. Acer EI491CR

5. Alienware AW3420DW

6. MSI Optix MPG341CQR

7. BenQ EX3203R

8. Viotek GNV34DBE

9. Sceptre Ultra-Slim

10. Aopen 27HC5R
