The 7 Best Cordless Floor Lamps
This wiki has been updated 19 times since it was first published in January of 2019. We don't always have an outlet handy everywhere we need a little extra illumination. Sure, a flashlight can be used in a pinch, but they aren't exactly a permanent or convenient solution, and running extension cables often looks unseemly. These cordless floor lamps work similarly to traditional models, but without any of the location restrictions or cords to trip over. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

March 04, 2021:
We removed the Jobar JB7243SIL and Fox Valley Traders EasyComforts 320135 due to availability issues, and found four new selections to replace those options and help expand our rankings for this category.
The Daylight24 602014 is what some (including the company) call a torchiere-style fixture. It has a traditional aesthetic that’ll likely do well with Victorian decor, and its upward-facing beam makes it a good choice for full-room illumination,
Contrastingly, the Yuwldd LD202 comes with a crisp, white look that’ll blend in well inside modern homes. Its flexible gooseneck makes it a good choice for reading, although its runtime is notably low — so it might not be your weapon of choice for taking on a couple monster novels back to back.
The Agilux Patio LED was my personal favorite pick during this round, and I liked it for its versatility. Since there’s no wiring connected to its base, you have a choice of three heights, and it can even be hung as a pendant light, though that will require a separately purchased chain. The company even recommends installing it inside your outdoor table in lieu of a patio umbrella, which can be both an attractive and practical option.
Our last pick was the Brimmel SG601064, which is admittedly more of a landscape light than a floor lamp, but given its 32-inch height, we still thought it was worth including for the benefit of users looking for something to setup inside their porch, patio or sunroom. Just note that it won’t be a viable choice for many locations beyond that, as it is a solar-powered fixture.
Pickings are still quite sparse for this category, so if you’re unable to find a choice you like, and you’re thinking of giving up the grudge and going with a corded model, then perhaps you’ll be interested in giving some thought to our generalized list of floor lamps.
February 02, 2019:
Unfortunately, these days there aren't very many cordless floor lamps on the market, so we had to make do with the best of a slim bunch. We wanted to find as many models with rechargeable batteries, so you wouldn't be on the hook for constantly buying more, as well as options that had handy features like adjustable brightness and beam direction.

Lumens Light + Living This company offers an expansive selection of lighting solutions, including collections of bulbs, dimmers and switches, and more than 30 categories of fixtures. They have over 100 battery-powered lamps to choose from, not to mention separate sections for all sorts of furniture and accessories. lumens.com
Modern Lantern With international shipping available, this outfit specializes exclusively in cordless luminaires. It seems as if their collection has fewer freestanding selections and more compact models that might look like nice on a desk or coffee table, but interestingly enough, it also includes some battery-powered wall sconces. It isn't made abundantly clear how said sconces are to be controlled (likely an integrated switch, if not some sort of wireless remote), but installation would sure beat fishing in new wires for a hardwired fixture. modernlantern.com
