The 6 Best Computer Armoires
This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in December of 2016. Having a computer at home is essential today, but finding a place to put it — not to mention all the accessories that come with it — can be a pain. These armoires can hide all that unsightly tech gear when it's not in use while also keeping everything neat and organized for when you need to use it. They can be extremely heavy, though, so you may want to secure yours to a wall. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
August 09, 2019:
The Hooker Furniture Brookhaven earned our top spot because it has ample room for everything you might need, so you won't have to decide between owning a printer or a scanner (of course, you can still save space without sacrificing any features by opting for an all-in-one model). The downside, of course, is that it's very large; however, we feel that the size difference between it and some of the other models shown here isn't significant enough to penalize it, especially when it can free up space by giving you a place to store some existing clutter.
The Sauder Edge Water Smartcenter is at the other end of the spectrum, as it's hardly bigger than a small desk. Of course, not everyone has huge computer towers and giant monitors to deal with, so if you only have a laptop or an all-in-one computer, you may be willing to sacrifice armoire space to free up room in your office.
The SR Commercial is a nice compromise between the two. It has a fair amount of room inside, but most of that is vertical space, so you won't have to spare an entire corner of a room for it. It's also extremely attractive, so you won't wish you could hide it when company comes over.
Special Honors
Amish Deluxe You might not expect the Amish to be your go-to for computer furniture, but it turns out they make gorgeous cabinets. This particular model is made of brown maple, with ample storage space and a fold-out table. dutchcrafters.com
Room&Board Linear The top panel on this model folds down to give you a convenient workspace for your keyboard, while your tower and printer can live in the cabinets by your knees. The entire right side is available for storage, and even has a filing cabinet for important documents. roomandboard.com
Two-Piece Computer Center If you run out of space on this monstrosity, you officially have too much tech gear. The bi-fold doors on the upper portion conceal a generous monitor space and two adjustable shelves, while the credenza has room for a large tower, scanner, and a whole lot more. onlineamishfurniture.com
