Editor's Notes
July 27, 2019:
"Coffee tables" is a broad category, with tons of options in a myriad of fashions and designs. We tried to ensure that this list would reflect that variety, which is why we included both wood and metal options, as well as those in a wide range of styles.
One things to consider before buying is space vs. utility. The larger options, like the Emerald Home Furnishings Chandler, give you plenty of room to store and stack things, which could help cut down on clutter in other parts of the home. However, they will eat into your available room, so something like the Ashley Marion might be a better option if you live in a tiny studio apartment.
The materials are also worth thinking about. Wood is by far the most common, as it's durable and attractive, but if you have small kids in the house, it could fall victim to stains and markings. Glass is sleek and easy to clean, but again, kids and glass might not be the best mix. Metal is a nice compromise, although it tends to be a little less sophisticated, and of course, kids can hurt themselves if they run into it. The lesson here might be that kids and furniture don't mix.
