The 10 Best Car Humidifiers
This wiki has been updated 22 times since it was first published in March of 2018. Being able to control the temperature in your vehicle is extremely convenient, but it can also make the air dry and uncomfortable. If you drive a lot and experience this issue frequently, consider investing in one of these car humidifiers. They'll produce a nice amount of moisture, and many of them can diffuse essential oils as well, allowing them to double as air fresheners. Editor's Notes
June 15, 2020:
While many of our previous selections managed to maintain their positions through this round of updates, we did decide on removing the Cleefun Cool Mist, Multifun Multi Use, Cloele Mini and Bestek USB due to availability issues. We also replaced the InnoGear travel with the improved InnoGear diffuser, and eliminated the Syntus Mist, noting that our rankings already included a similar selection. Some of our new additions this time around include the Gulaki Multifunction KF4301099 — a useful unit with an on-board charging hub that includes two USB ports and a 12-volt DC socket, the Lion Palace i1-Black — which features a seven-color nightlight, and the SixKiwi Air Freshner – a model with a 300 milliliter reservoir and a clean, white aesthetic.
Many models in this category are remarkably similar, but there are some differentiators separating them, including which additional features they have. Here’s a few to look for:
Nightlights: Models like the InnoGear Diffuser, Navy Penguin Ultrasonic and Meidi Portable feature a selection of colored LEDs that help users set the tone in their vehicles with a bit of chromatic lighting. Seven seems to be a common number of color options to offer, although the JZK Color Changing does one better, with a repertoire of eight colors to choose from.
Charging Ports: It can never hurt to have them, especially when there’s a good chance that your new humidifier’s occupying the 12-volt DC socket in your vehicle that you normally depend on to charge your phone. While the single USB port offered by models like the Lion Palace i1-Black and Gamtek Spray Ultrasonic will provide adequate utility for most situations, the Gulaki Multifunction KF4301099 sets itself apart with a pair of two-amp USB ports and a single 12-volt DC socket.
Fan: The Gamtek Spray Ultrasonic stood out to us because of the simple USB fan it came with. Granted, it’s an affordable add-on for the company, but it still remains a nice touch, as it can help direct mist as your humidifier emits it, as well as assisting in the improvement of general air circulation throughout your vehicle.
A note on aromatherapy: One nice feature offered by many models in this category is their ability to emit essential oils by infusing the water in their reservoirs. For users primarily interested in these units for this purpose, who may also be living in climates that are naturally humid, we maintain a separate set of rankings for car oil diffusers, which contains several similar models to this list, as well as some waterless alternatives.
