Editor's Notes

December 14, 2020:

Due to availability concerns, we removed the Grizzly G0690 and SawStop PCS175. We replaced the Laguna Tools Fusion as well, because of some quality control problems.

We added two more high-quality Grizzly brand options, including the Grizzly Industrial G1023RL, a relatively compact model that would be ideal for a smaller shop or garage. Another addition, the Grizzly Industrial G0651, is a bit bulkier but comes with the benefit of lower shelf space. This model could be really convenient if you have a lot of projects going on, and want to keep your workpieces organized.

Though there are plenty of dangerous tools in a woodshop, cabinet table saws like these are capable of delivering catastrophic injuries in a split-second, making them especially hazardous. Their raw power and open blade deserve your utmost respect and focus, and should never be operated when tired or under the influence of mind-altering medication or alcohol. If you’ve never used a table saw before, try and get a professional woodworker to walk you through the technique and show you the ropes. If that’s not possible, spend some serious time watching instructional videos online. Make sure to never wear gloves while using a cabinet table saw (they both reduce your tactile awareness, and can get caught in the blade), and always keep the ground clear of dust and wood debris. Slipping and losing your balance can easily lead to a catastrophic injury. Earplugs should also be worn at all times.

The large size of cabinet table saws helps lower vibrations, and provide more room in front of the blade -- making them great for ripping long panels. But, if you are in need of a saw that can deliver a bit more versatility, one of these general-purpose table saws could be a great choice. Several of these options are even compact enough to be portable, allowing them to be transported to and from job sites.

Regardless of the table saw you choose, you may want to supplement your purchase with an extra table saw blade, especially if you have a lot of projects coming up.

January 31, 2019:

When selecting the best models we wanted to balance price, performance, and safety as best we could. While there will always be compromises somewhere, we feel we have done a good job of collecting a nice variety of options, ensuring there is one to fit every need. Both professional contractors and home hobbyists can find what they need here since we included true 3HP cabinet table saws and 1.75HP hybrid options.
