The 9 Best Behind The Neck Headphones
This wiki has been updated 20 times since it was first published in November of 2018. Behind the neck headphones come in a few flavors, ranging from wired on-ear headphones, to wireless earbuds with a neckband connector, with significant variance between the two. They are also not as easily lost as true wireless Bluetooth earbuds that are immensely popular, and very small. We've included a range of styles, at a variety of different prices to ensure you'll find the perfect pair. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
December 30, 2020:
There are two kinds of headphones that run behind your neck. Traditional behind-the-neck models like the Sony Lightweight and Besign SH03, and wireless neckband earbuds like the Anker Soundcore Life U2 and Mpow Jaws. Of course, at the top of the list, the Sony WI-1000X should satisfy all but the most demanding audiophiles, and they're among the less common variety that also has active noise canceling. The minimalist Beats Flex are also a highly reliable choice that most people will be happy with. The Philip ActionFit and Phaiser BHS-530 - the first wired, the second wireless - combine the two styles, by putting in-ear monitors at either end of a neckband.

Choosing headphones is a very personal thing. Sound quality is generally subjective, since no two people will hear and experience music in the exact same way. Also, users have different needs from them. Some may want a highly durable and water-resistant pair for working out, while another person may just need something very discreet to wear when walking around town. For these reasons, we did our best to include a nice variety of models so hopefully there should be at least pair one to suit everybody.
