This wiki has been updated 22 times since it was first published in October of 2018. Slam balls are a great way to develop speed, power, and stamina. They are generally used in compound exercises that hit multiple muscle groups simultaneously, allowing you to burn the maximum number of calories while increasing endurance and strength. They can also be an awesome way to relieve stress after a hard day at work when you need to let out some explosive energy. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

Editor's Notes

October 29, 2018:

One of the biggest concerns when choosing a slam ball is durability. There is nothing worse than having one split mid-workout and spilling sand everywhere. With this in mind, we focused our efforts on finding models than can stand up to thousands of impacts without failing. When many people think of slam balls, they automatically assume they should have no rebound, but we recognize that some people perform exercise routines where some bounce is necessary. With this in mind, we also included a few models that have a high degree of rebound. We made sure to specifically point out which models bounce though, so there is no confusion.
