These kits introduce young minds to fields like programming and robotics using fun and engaging hands-on activities, allowing students to grow their knowledge in exciting ways. Editor's Notes
February 10, 2019:
This list has items that are quite varied because of the broad definition of "science" as well as the definition of "Teen." The Elegoo car takes the top spot because it's inexpensive, introduces concepts in a way that makes kids want to learn, and can be a great project for parents and youths to do together. The Lego Mindstorms similarly makes a great team project, though it is much more expensive. If you're looking for educational materials, the ProTechTrader and Brisk Learner sets can supplement classwork and help those who are struggling. The rest of the kits, while fun, require a bit of motivation on the part of the student, so while they are good, they simply aren't as cool as a car you can program.
