The 8 Best Hangboards
This wiki has been updated 23 times since it was first published in December of 2018. Hangboards allow people to develop their grip strength from the comfort of their own home, rather than having to make a trip to the crags or a climbing gym every time they want a quick workout. They are generally made from wood or resin, with each material being beneficial for different reasons. On this list you'll find models suited to both beginner and advanced climbers. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.
Editor's Notes
December 27, 2018:
We did our best to include models that have a variety of handholds, so that users won't outgrow them just because their strength increases a little bit. However, since there is no one-size-fits all hangboard, we made sure to add options for both beginners and experienced climbers. We also thought it prudent to include a few portable models that aren't technically hangboards, but serve a similar purpose and allow you to train almost anywhere.
